A Lost Boy’s journey from the Sudan to America At the age of five, Gabriel Wal escaped brutal attacks by rebel forces on his village in southern Sudan. He spent most of his formative years alone in a refugee camp in Kenya. Today at 24, Gabriel says he has found a home in Jacksonville and has learned to forgive the men who raided his village, separating him from his family.

Life After Retirement Two of our beloved Irish pastors will retire this spring – (l-r) Holy Ghost Father Patrick Carroll in April and Msgr. James Heslin in June. Each plans to live in the area and continue their pastoral ministry – but they also plan to take time to travel!
