Father Guy Noonan, pastor of St. Ambrose Parish in Elkton was officially incardinated as a priest of the Diocese of Saint Augustine on August 16. Father Noonan was appointed by Bishop Victor Galeone in April to replace St. Ambrose Pastor Patrick Caroll who retired. In a letter to Father Noonan confirming his incardination, Bishop Galeone said “You have many gifts and talents and we are blessed in knowing that you will be sharing them in a permanent way with the clergy and people of our diocese.”

Deacon Maurice Culver was named the new coordinator of the diocesan Ministry Formation Program, effective in September. A graduate of the MFP Class of 2001, Maurice is a retired navy physician and has taught biology, anatomy and physiology at Florida Community College of Jacksonville since 2003. Bishop Victor Galeone ordained Maurice a deacon with the first class of men June 3, 2006

Begun in 1972, the Respect Life Program provides information about church teaching on the value and dignity of human life to the Catholic community and wider public. Communitá Cenacolo America celebrates its 13th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 15 at Our Lady of Hope Community - located 6.5 miles west of I-95 on State Road 16 in St. Augustine. The day’s events begin at 1 p.m. Bishop Victor Galeone will celebrate Mass at 5 p.m. with Bishop Bob Baker of Charleston. The Our Lady of Hope Community was brought to the diocese in 1993 by Bishop Baker to help men who suffer from drug and alcohol addictions.
